hey thanks for the Gleaner tip, that's a great idea -- not sure yet on location as I'd like to be close to my friends in the Red Hills area above Kingston, but I am not completely set on that. I do really prefer the eastern end of the scenic north coast though (Port Maria, Blue Harbour, Oracabezza, Port Antonio, etc.) I'd like to avoid the more overloaded tourist areas like Montego Bay, Negril, and Ocho Rios areas.

Jamaica is hosting the World Cup Cricket extravaganza March/April of 2007. Accomodations expected to be booked solid. The govt. is requesting that people open their homes to tourists on a bed/breakfast basis. I agree...the on-line Gleaner may offer you a glimpse as to what may be available. Its not too early to start checking it out. I am currently in negotiations for a real estate deal ( that includes a guest house) on the North Coast (Ochi area). Just far enough from the tourist traps but close enough to some awesome healing energy sites.I may be able to hook you up during that time. I also have a number of connections Island wide if Ochi just won't suit you. I'll stay in touch. Peace...Lor
